Mac Hue, The Perfect Nude?

27 February 2014

Not so long ago during a Twitter chat, i asked my lovely BBlogger friends for advice on what Mac Lipsticks they suggest i should add to my new Mac collection. I said that one of the colours i was looking for was a nude, and Hue was one of the lipsticks suggested to me.
I didn't want a nude that was too skin colored i feel they can wash me out, i wanted one with a pink tone too it that looks more like a natural lip colour.
Hue is a pale pink glaze lipstick, its the first lipstick with a glaze finish i've tried and i really like it. Its not as long wearing as more matt finishes but its light and glossy looking.
The colour doesn't come out very pink on my lips, its infact exactly what i wanted just a gorgeous nude colour, that due to the soft pink tones doesn't look like skin.
This lipstick is perfect for a understated everyday lip colour, and i'm happy to say, i think i have found my perfect nude!
Have you found your perfect nude?

Benfit's Porefessional Agent Zero Shine Review

25 February 2014

I am a big Benefit fan, their products are good quality and fun, everything from the packaging down to the product names are well thought out and different.
Benefits new product Porefessional Agent Zero Shine is no exception. Their new shine free PRO powder which claims to "help shrink the look of pores and minimize shine" comes in the most unique packaging yet. The powder comes in a cylindrical container, the middle filled with product, the lid and base are both removable. The lid is used to put the product into, and when you remove the base it reveals a small brush for application.
So to use you unscrew the lid tap out the product into it, and apply to the face using the brush, simple right?
As unique and novelty as the packaging is to be honest i find it a bit of a faff, i no its a finishing powder so in theory you would probably apply it at home after you've done your makeup, however being an oily skinned girl my skin can get quite shiny quickly so i always take my powder with me for touch ups. This to me is not a powder that would be easy to use on the go, trying to carefully tip some powder out into the lid on the bus or in a bar toilet after a few wines just screams nightmare to me...
Anyway enough on the packaging lets get onto the actual product its self.
I am happy to report that i really like the powder, like i said before i have oily skin and all the delights that accompany it such as enlarged pores. I already use the Porefessional primer which i like for covering them and it does a good job, but this powder really does do something magical to the skin, it literally blurs the skin, and makes my pores undetectable, amazing!
Along with the beautiful finish it gives it also does a good job of minimizing shine whilst feeling incredibly light weight on the skin.

My Thoughts
I personally think there are good and bad points to this product, i equally both love and hate the packaging, yes its fun and different but in reality i'm not sure its practical.
I am very impressed with the finish it gives the skin and how it blurs the pores,  however i'm not sure that it keeps shine at bay any longer than my Rimmel Stay Matt.
Another thing is it doesn't look like you get a lot of product so i'm not sure how long it would last for, it is a very finely milled powder and it doesn't take a lot at all for the entire face.
At £23.50 it isn't cheap either so i think i need to test it out a bit further before i decide if its worth re-purhaseing.

I hope this review was helpful, has anyone else tried Porefessional Agent Zero Shine? What did you think?

Sleek i-Divine Original Palette Review

23 February 2014

I was actually looking for the Sleek Vintage Romance Palette when i picked up this beauty, unfortunately the the Superdrug i was in didn't have it.
I had only tried lip and cheek products form Sleek and had been really impressed with both, so i decided to try more from there range. I hoped that the great quality and strong pigmentation would impress me just as much and i am happy to report i was not left disappointed.
I usually find with a lot of high street makeup brands that there eyeshadows are not great, i often find them chalky in texture with poor colour pay off.
This is most definitely not the case with Sleek eyeshadows, for your £7.99 you get twelve eyeshadows one matt, and eleven metalic/pearlescent shadows. The colours come out on the skin exactly as they look in the palette, so unlike some eyeshadows what you see really is what you get.
The shadows are smooth and incredibly pigmented, i think there's a great selection of colours in the Original Palette, there's something for everyone and the beautiful shades can be used to create different and unique eye looks. My favorites are the khaki green, the navy blue and the rose gold colours and i cant wait to play around with them and see what new looks i can create.
The packaging like the other Sleek Palettes is the same thin black plastic packaging, its nothing exciting but its durable and the small size means its easy to carry around with you.

I am in love with this palette, at £7.99 its just unbeatable for the quality of the product and i will most definitely be picking up more Sleek palettes in the future.
Have you tried a Sleek Eyeshadow palette? What did you think?

OOTD Blooming Lovely Collared Dress

20 February 2014

Dress- Missguided
Jacket- Topshop
Boots- Missguided
Bag- Topshop

Hello lovelies, i showed you all the beautiful dress in my last post my Clothing and Accessories haul and i just couldn't wait to style my favorite new dress for an outfit post.
I love a bit of floral in my wardrobe, and prints like this with a black background are especially great for this time of year a bit more wintery, and easily styled with black tights and boots. I think the collar and the long sleeves make it look more casual and more of a daytime dress. The dress has such a lovely fit, it just clings to all the right places. Accessory wise i just let the print and the collar do the talking and didn't bother with my usual statement necklace, i am wearing a few midi rings which i would show you but i cant seem to get the hang of the old I'm just casually showing you my hand bling pose...

Clothing & Accessories Haul

18 February 2014

I haven't done a big clothing haul for a while now, i was quite good over the previous months particularly around Christmas and didn't have a big shop, of course I'm only human though so i did purchase a few bits to keep me going... Over the last month or so i've had a shopping trip and i treated myself to a few bits online and i thought i would share them with you.

Topshop V Neck Cutaway Crop Top-
I had been looking for a nice white crop top for a while that would go with loads, what i like about this one is its not too cropped there are a lot of bralets around at the moment that i don't think I'm brave enough to wear but this shows a nice bit of wait when worn with something high waisted but not so much that i feel uncomfortable, i also love the v neck style.

Topshop Gingham Joni Jeans-
Gingham is everywhere right now, definitely the print of the moment. I spotted these in Topshop and new i had to try them on. I love the fit and style of the Joni Jeans there just so comfortable and i fell in love with the print there quite a bold pick for me and i was a bit unsure but after asking my Twitter  friends i got a resounding yes, so that was me sold.

Missguided Laetita Faux Leather Aysymetric Skirt-
I had been lusting after Missguided's assortment of multi colored PVC and faux leather skirts, when i spotted this beaut, i love that it hits three big fashion trends in one, faux leather, aysymetric and the pink colour thats everywhere right now.

Missguided Deynara Rose Print Collared Dress-
I was looking for a few more day dresses that i can just chuck on with some tight and boots and fell in love with this dress. I love the collar detail and the pretty floral print.

H&M Black Daisy Print Dress-
I love H&M for great affordable bits, this dress was only £15 what a bargain. As you may be able to tell I'm really into my black and white at the moment and i love the simple black and white daisy print. The simple style is so pretty. it flares out nicely at the bottom and buttons all the way down, i actually thought it was a playsuit when i tried it on and after undoing all the buttons and stepping into the bottoms i released it was a dress....

River Island White Fur Collar Biker Jacket-
I had been looking for a new jacket, my old faithful black Topshop Jacket has seen better days. There is so many gorgeous shades of jacket around at the moment but i saw this jacket and loved it. The white colour means it will go with everything, its perfect for when the wether gets a bit nicer and its got a cute removable fur collar.

Primark Daisy Print Scarf-
I love Primark for there scarfs there a great price and a really cheap way to update an outfit, this daisy print scarf is bang on trend.

Jewelry-
I felt like i needed to treat myself to some new jewelry as well, all the jewelry is from primark apart from the the silver and gold collar necklace which was from Topshop.
Im not going to list it all as you can see the prices in the picture, Primark really do a great selection of on trend jewelry, and i got two necklaces, two sets of bracelets and two packs of midi ring for just under £20! i was very happy with that.

I hope you enjoyed having a nose at my latest fashion purchases, I'm sure if you haunt already you will spot everything in outfit posts soon enough. What have you been treating yourselves to lately?

Valentines Makeup Tutorial

13 February 2014

So its Valentines day tomorrow and i wanted to do a makeup tutorial for the occasion.
Whether you loved up and looking for a nice makeup look for a date with your beloved or a single girl  who's going out to celebrate her singledom with her friends, i hope you have a great Fourteenth of February.

Face-
Benefits Porefessional
Vichy Dermablend
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matt Powder
Topshop Matt Bronzer
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle
Bourjois Blush Exclusif
Urban Decay De Slick

Eyes/Eyebrows-
Naked 3 Palette
Mac Paintpot in Let's Skate
Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil
Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Liner in Nude
Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter

Lips-
Channel Rouge Coco Shine in Rendez Vous

The look i decided to go for is nothing too dramatic its soft, pretty and romantic perfect for a Valentines date.
I first used Porefessional to cover my pore and give a good base followed by my all trusty Dermablend foundation to give a perfecting full coverage but still leaving the skin looking slightly dewy and fresh.
I used a concealer a shade lighter than my skintone to brighten under my eyes down the bridge of my nose and between my brows, followed by a translucent powder to set.
I applied a matt bronzer to the face and neck, added Borjois adjustable blush to my cheeks for a date perfect natural flush and finished off the face with my favorite highlighter Soft & Gentle.
On my eyes i applied a Mac Paintpot in let's Skate as a base, the light pink sparkle is perfect for Valentines, i then used Limit for the Naked 3 Palette in the crease, Liar along the bottom lashline and outer third of the eye and Blackout in the outer corner for a bit more depth to the look without making it too dark.
I applied my Doll Eyes mascara, black liner to the upper lid, a nude liner in the waterline to open up the eyes and falseies ready to flutter those lashes.
The final touches are a spitz of De Slick to set the makeup and a slick of a gorgeous pink Channel lippie to make those lips look irresistible...

I hope you have a great Valentines.

Easy Valentines Heart Nail Tutorial

11 February 2014

Hello lovelies, i haven't done nail tutorial in a while i think my last one was my Christmas nail tutorial so i think this is well overdue! I knew i just had to do a Valentines nail tutorial, its the perfect excuse for me to do something super pretty and girlie.
This is probably the simplest tutorial i've done, you don't need a really steady hand or any tools, it is definitely easier than it looks so definitely have a go.

What you Need-
2X Nail polish, light pink and a darker pink, i used Nails Inc. Elizabeth Street and Wellington Street.
1X Glitter polish (Optional) I used Bourjois Rainbow Apparition.

Step 1-
Paint two coats of your base pink, i think it works best to use the lightest colour as the base, allow to dry.
Step 2-
Using the brush of the darker pink dab two dots onto the nail, spaced equally apart halfway up the nail.
Step 3-
Place the brush over each dot and drag down to the tip of the nail in a v shape to make the heart.
Step 4-
Allow the hearts to dry, if they are a bit wonkey or uneven carefully go over them again to even out the heart.
Step 5-
Add a glitter polish over the hearts for a pretty finish, let it dry and add a topcoat to seal and make it last longer.

And its that easy!! I hope you enjoyed my Valentines Nail Tutorial.

Today is the last day to enter my Sleek giveaway so if you haven't already you can enter that here

Apocalips Out Of This World

06 February 2014

I have been a big fan of Rimmel's Apocalips from the start, i've got four of the original shades, Nova (pink), Stellar (coral), Big Bang (red) and Apocaliptic (bright pink). There was a massive hype surrounding them when they first came out and when i tried them i understood why.
Apocalips are a lip lacquer, a cross between a lipstick and a gloss, and what i love about them is that they have the best bit of each, the intense colour you get from a lipstick with the amazing moisturizing shine of a gloss. The only thing i disliked about them was the colour selection, the four shades i purchased are all incredibly bold shades and the rest in the collection didn't appeal to me, i was looking for a more wearable everyday shade. Luckily Rimmel answered my prayers and released new shades to the range before Christmas and one of those was exactly what i wanted.
Out of this world is a beautiful Raspberry pink shade, its not a nude but it's extremely wearable the sort of pink you could wear with any makeup and any outfit. Out of This World unlike the others has a frosted slightly shimmery finish which i think looks really pretty. It feels the same on the lips very light and not at all drying, the only downside is its not long lasting like the others as i guess the colours too light to stain the lips, you have no chance of it staying on if your eating. If you don't mind re-applying more regularly then i would definitely recommend trying this pretty pink for yourselves.

Has anyone else tried the newer shades of Apocalips? Which is your favorite?

OOTN All Black and White

04 February 2014

Top- Topshop
Skirt- Missguided
Shoes- New Look
Necklace- Topshop

Another outfit post i hear you say... I'm glad I'm getting a lot more regular with outfit posts now that was something i wanted to do as i want a equal mix of beauty and fashion on the blog as i love them both!
This is what i wore out saturday night with the girls, the skirt you may have seen me wear before as i have previously featured it in a post (Here) where i wore it dressed down for daywear, i thought it would be nice to show it dressed up for a night time look. I wanted to go for a monochrome look usually one for colour I'm really loving the simplicity of it so i wore a white Topshop crop top. I love the skirt's high waist it means that even with a crop top it doesn't show too much midriff. I wore some black platform court shoes and my favorite new sparkly silver and gold collar necklace.

I hope your enjoying seeing more outfit posts from me, don't forget there's still a week left of my Sleek giveaway (Here) so if you haven't entered already make sure you do!
