OOTN Boxing Day 2014

29 December 2014

Playsuit- Missguided
Shoes- Missguided

For me Christmas day and Boxing day day are for family and Boxing day night is for friends, as per tradition i always go out for the night on Boxing day evening and this year was no different. I apologize for the quality of the pictures for some reason we decided to take the pictures just before we left the house after several hours of shots and drinking games, i could barely stand straight let alone pose and the photographer (bestie) was in an even worse state, however i really did like what i was wearing and wanted to share it with you. i picked up the playsuit from missguided i fell in love with the gorgeous raspberry colour and velvet material which gives it a vampy touch. I really liked the neckline and bardot shoulders even if it meant not being able to raise my arms above my head, like most Missguided playsuits it is super short but hey ho its Chistmas if you cant flash the flesh in the party season when can you? The shoes, oh the shoes... aren't they wonderful? They were a little Christmas present to myself i had lusted after them for ages but they kept selling out so when i spotted them back in stock i had to buy them, i have been such a good girl this year after all...

What I Wore Christmas Day 2014

27 December 2014

Top- New Look
Skirt- Missguided
Coat- Topshop
Boots- Missguided

Im so sad Christmas is over now, it always goes so quickly doesn't it! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves i definitely did i ate, drank and laughed a lot! I decided to take a bit of a brake from blogging over Christmas week, i just wanted to really enjoy it and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends without having to worry about writing posts and i hope nobody minded too much. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things so today i thought i thought i would show you what i wore on Christmas day. I know some people like to really chill on Christmas day in there pj's and comfy clothes but i always have to leave the house to visit family so that means getting dressed, and when i do i like to dress nicely and i buy something new for the occasion. I spotted this skirt on Missguided and really liked it, I'm not usually one for green but i love the colour and think it works well in velvet, its also comfortable and stretchy a must for all the eating that goes on Christmas day. I wore it with a plain black crop top from New Look and the boots were a Christmas present from my Brother i love the simple chelsea style with the gold chain detail, to keep my warm i topped it off with my gorgeous faux fur coat from Topshop.

The Christmas Tag 2014

18 December 2014

I love everything about Christmas, although I'm a a massive Summer girl and love the sunshine and the warmth i just think Christmas time brings out the best in people i love the festivity, getting to spend a lot of quality time with my family and friends and of course eating and drinking everything in sight! I  don't do a lot of tag posts however as i was tagged in by my friend Nicole and i though it had some good questions and is a good way to get to know a bit more about me at one of my favorite times of the year i thought i would do it, so here it is.

Q1- What are your favorite Christmas movies?
For me when i think of Christmas films i think Home Alone i must have seen it a million times and it never gets old, i also absolutely love Elf its such a funny film. A lot of people i know say Love Actually and are shocked when i say i hate it but i really do i just find it a bit sad, i like my happy funny Christmas films.

Q2- Do you open your Christmas presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning always, i couldn't imagine opening them on Christmas eve it would ruin having something exciting to wake up too, i would probably just stay in bed.

Q3- Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
I don't think i have just the one, i've had some great Christmas's and great times with family, i would love to go back to being a child for one more Christmas to experience the excitement from a child's perspective again.

Q4- Favorite festive food?
All of it! Ha no really i just love eating at Christmas, I'm not one for Christmas pudding or Mince pies but i love the actual Christmas dinner itself, and you cant beat a bit of chocolate log.

Q5- Favorite Christmas gift?
Im incredibly lucky, and always am spoilt by my lovely family at Christmas, i've had some amazing presents over the years and i don't think i could pick a favorite.

Q6- Favorite Christmas scent?
My Lush Snow Fairy shower gel has become my favorite smell of Christmas i love using it in the Winter and i will be very sad when its all gone.

Q7- Do you have any Christmas eve traditions?
No not really, i used to go out with my friends on Christmas eve but after spending one Christmas particularly hung-over and unable to fully enjoy the day i don't really tend to go out anymore i don't want anything to spoil the day. This year i will be going out for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks with family but i will be behaving.

Q8- What tops your tree?
An angelic picture of me... ha god I'm just so funny, err no i believe it a silver star.

Q9- As a child what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant)gift you always asked for but never
received?
I always wanted my own puppy, i was a bit obsessed with the Andrex puppy you know the golden labradors? I was never allowed one, but i will have one one day and it will carry my loo roll for me!

Q10- What is the best part of Christmas for you?
Definitely spending time with your loved ones, its great to treat the people you love and give them presents but most of all just celebrating and bringing everyone together, its just a lovely time of year.

So those were my answers, I'm not going to tag anyone in particular i tag anyone who reads this and if you do the tag please send me the link so i can read your answers.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year!

OOTD, Thigh High Loving

16 December 2014

Skirt- Topshop
Cardigan- Primark

So as you can see i caved on the thigh high boot front! I did try my hardest not to give in and follow the pack, but there is a reason everybody has these boots, because they are so god damn awesome and well i needed some in my life. I must admit although i do love them a great deal i felt a tad self conscious wearing them out of the house for the first time. Although i think these are very wearable for over the knee boots i still had pretty woman in my head, especially with this skirt which used to be longer however due to the fact i am such a domestic goddess and may have shrunk it in the wash it barely covers my bum, but nevermind the important thing is no cars stopped for me so all good... To make up for the boots and the skirt i paired it with a very respectable polo neck which i think paired with the cardigan is what saves me from indecency and i really like how it looks.

What do you think of the thigh high boot trend?

Orange and Cranberry Winter Makeup Look

13 December 2014

Base/Skin-
Benefit Porefessional,
Nars Sheer Glow in Fuji,
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer,
Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder,
Nars Laguna Bronzer,
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush
Mac Mineralize Skin finish In Soft and Gentle.

Eyes/Brows-
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde,
Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette,
L'oreal Gel Intenza Eyeliner in Black,
Bourjois Volume 1 Second Mascara.

Lips-
Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick in Revenge

Since the Vice 3 palette came into my life i haven't really used anything else on my eyes, there is such an amazing variety of colours to play with and along with some great neutral looks i've been loving wearing some of the more out there shades. Like i said in my review the metallic finish shadows are my favorite and two colours in particular Lucky a bronze shade that looks orangeish on the eyes and Sonic a rich cranberry, i just love how they look together such a warm winter look. I would usually pair quite a bold eye with a more nude lip however i was just feeling a really vampy look so i went for a dark red, its actually a lot darker in person but seems to have come up more red in the pictures but never mind and I'm really happy with the outcome. I have also been practicing with my winged liner which really isn't one of my strongest point makeup wise but I'm pretty happy with how that turned out too so i think i deserve a high five for that one girls!

Access All Asos Secret Santa

10 December 2014

This year Asos have come up with the Access All Asos Secret Santa and i was lucky enough to be involved. The AAASecretSanta is for Asos insiders and is a way to get in the festive spirit and spread a little festive joy with other bloggers, all insiders involved receive an email with their Secret Santa recipient and are given a £15 gift code from Asos to buy them a gift.
I just thought what a lovely idea not only did i find it quite exciting at the idea of giving someone else a gift but of course the thought of getting one myself.
Initially we were only given our Secret Santa name and address in which to find them and try and have a little stalk on social media to find out a bit about them, however even being the queen stalker that i am i found this to be a bit difficult and so was very relieved when the Asos team then sent round everyones twitter handles. After a bit of stalking i felt i had got an idea of the sort of thing my secret santa would like and i made my order. I choose to get the gifts delivered to me first as i wanted to package it nicely, and add a few festive sweet treats and a card.
I took a lot of pride in my gift, and it felt really nice putting so much effort into a present for  a complete stranger but thats why i think its a nice idea, and i was very happy when my secret santa tweeted saying she loved her presents.
I was so excited when i received my own gift, i did feel a little naughty opening it before Christmas but i couldn't resist. My secret santa the lovely Charlotte had picked an assortment of little gifts for me and  she had obviously had a stalk of me too as she knew I'm really into my nail stuff, so along with my nail wraps and files she picked some anatomicals face masks and some gold midi rings which i also love. Like myself my Secret Santa choose to get my gifts sent to her first so she could wrap them and add a card which i was really happy about, its a great personal touch and it was so nice to open like having a blogger pen pall.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Access All Asos Secret Santa i think it was a great idea and i really hope Asos do it again next year.

OOTD Winter Blues

05 December 2014

Coat- Topshop
Skirt- Missguided (similar here or in Pink)
Shoes- Primark
Chocker/Necklaces- Topshop

I had wanted a (faux) fur coat for ages, i had my eye on one in Zara that i was going to treat myself to but it sold out, fortunately this Topshop beauty had £30 off in the black friday sales and it was just too good an offer to resist. I love the collar-less style and its just so soft and warm. I've had the skirt for a couple months now its quite a thick felt like material so its great for winter, its a A-line shape which gives it a bit of a 60s vibe and i like to wear it with plain crop tops and V-necks. I think it would look good with some over the knee boots, but i haven't caved to the trend yet so i wore these leopard print slips ons instead. My step mum took these pictures in the park and my baby sister got in on the action, i love our coordinated fluffy outfits which were completely coincidental, such a cutie isn't she.

November Favourites

03 December 2014

I didn't do a favourites post last month, i cant really remember why just my general lack of organisation i expect, however this month i have a little mixture of skin and body care and a few bits of makeup that i've enjoyed using the past couple month and feel deserve a bit of a shoutout.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel-
Ever since i first discovered Snow Fairy i have been obsessed with the sugary sweet delight, for me it is just my favourite smell of Winter. As soon as the Lush Winter Collection was released i was straight in to buy the biggest bottle available, i love using this in the shower in the mornings its my feel good happy smell and the scent lingers for hours on the skin, considering i've been using it everyday for the last couple of months its fairing well there's still more than half left, i will be sad when its all gone but its something to look forward to buying next Winter.

BarryM Nail Paint in Ballerina-
BarryM have bought out various new ranges for the Winter season The Glitterati Collection, and a few new colour editions to their Gelly, Silk, Aquarium and Classic range. Ballerina is one of three new shades from the A/W Classic range, its a muted slightly dusky pink and is exactly what i would describe as the perfect nude pink shade. I am loving wearing this at the moment it it goes with everything its subtle but is still clear your wearing polish on your nails.

Superdrug Coconut Oil-
I recently ran out of Body lotion so i started using this again and remembered why i loved it so much to begin with, its a solid oil that you warm up in your hands to melt so you can apply to the hair, skin wherever you want really. Its not the quickest to use you do have to work it into the skin, but it leaves it feeling soft and smooth and smells amazing, i like to put it on before bed to let in really sink in and then wash it off in the morning.

Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Blonde-
A new favourite but one i cant see going anywhere for some time, i bought this just over a month ago and since then i haven't used anything else on my brows, i couldn't nothing else would compare. It really is a stand out product, i love the colour the formula and it lasts amazingly well, definitely one to try if you haven't already.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation-
I like to switch it up a bit with my foundations, and i had been using a CC cream most days and my Double Wear when i wanted a bit more coverage so Sheer Glow wasn't getting a lot of love, the last few weeks however i have started using it regularly and fallen in love with it all over again. It just gives such good coverage without completely hiding your skin, its surprisingly natural and gives a healthy glow no other foundation can compete with, why did i stop using it?

Revlon Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion-
This is one of my favourite lip products at the moment, its a gorgeous plum shade that is dark but surprisingly wearable. I found the formula of the Moisture stains a bit varied the darker shades are definitely better than some of the lighter ones, but it gives such a nice sheen to the lips and feels really moisturising.

L'oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur-
As you can see from the almost empty tube this has been well used, i put this on most days on top of my moisturiser and under foundation or CC cream. Its a great product to give a smooth base for makeup, its really thick but i actually like that i feel like its covering my blemishes and pores. It also makes my makeup last longer, so i think i need to buy a new tube before i run out.

Thats my November favourites, what have you been loving the past month?

OOTD Rose Print Swing Dress

26 November 2014

Dress- Missguided
Jacket- Topshop (Similar here)
Boots- Topshop
Bag- Primark

I've had this dress for a few months now and realised i still hadn't shown it you guys on the blog, its such a simple throw on style, easy to wear but the bold rose print really makes a statement. I really love loose dresses like this so great for when I'm having a fat day or like what i wore this for the other day going out to dinner and hiding my food baby! I love the pink its so bright but i think the black in the dress tones it down and i've worn a simple black biker jacket and black accessories so there's not too much going on.
For anyone interested the dress and the boots are both currently in the sale right now (links above) not that I'm tempting you to shop or anything...

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

24 November 2014

I am a big fan of Urban Decays eyeshadow's, i have both the Naked 2 and 3 palette and love them both. I've never been massively fussed about the previous Vice palettes, however as soon as i saw pictures of this Vice 3 i knew i had to have it, i think it was the gorgeous berry shades that drew me in, it was released online on my payday and i bought it instantly, it was like it was meant to be! Yes the Urban Decay palettes aren't the cheapest on the market, the Vice 3 was £42 which did pain me slightly but if you think it will coat you £38 for a Charlotte Tilbury quad it doesn't seem quite so bad. For your money you are getting twenty delicious new and never seen before shades, inside some of the most amazing and well thought out packaging.
The palette comes in the box inside its very own bag which i thought was a great touch, its a great size to use as a makeup bag or as suggested on the box to keep your makeup brushes in. On to the palette itself, for the Vice 3 Urban Decay have streamlined the palette for a much sleeker size, however it still has a very handy massive mirror inside and a double ended brush which is great. I love the bright fun colours and the lime green jewel like Vice in the lid i think it just sets it aside from any other palette on the market.
On to the shadows which are set in rows of five, neutrals on the left, jewel tones in the center and smokey shades on the right. You get a nice mixture of matte, shimmer and metallic shadows in some of the most beautiful shades, some of my favorites are the metallic which i think are the best quality and pigmentation particularly Lucky a warm bronze and Sonic the most amazing cranberry shade, the metallic shadows are smooth and buttery and last all day, very impressed. One thing i will say about the palette is there is a variation in quality in the shadows as much as i was impressed with the metallic shades i have found some of the other shadows to be slightly powdery and not as strong in pigmentation which is a bit disappointing. I think there are so many possible looks with this palette, there are some quite bright daunting shades Dragon for example a bold green but i think combined with the mixture of more neutral shades there a lot more wearable and there is a little something for everyone.
Overall i am really impressed with the Vice 3 palette, i think Urban Decay have done a great job and i wont be putting it down anytime soon, this will defiantly be my chosen palette for the party season!

What do you think of the Vice 3 palette?
