Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover!

28 September 2013

Hello there lovely's,
todays review is a product i have been loving and i think it deserves a big shout out! Now as much as i love painting my nails, one thing i don't enjoy is taking it all off! I actually hate it, i just cant be bothered especially if i've used glitter polish and have to spend a good half hour scrubbing away at my poor nails. I just found myself wishing for a magic wand to magic it all away.... and it seems someone has answered my prayers along came Bourjois with their Magic Nail polish remover!
All you do is dip each finger in the pot and twist it around until the polish is removed, it claims to be instant one second removal but i would say it defiantly takes longer (at least 5), however i usually have a good few coats on my nails what with base coat, a couple layers of polish and a topcoat.
The reason i love it is, it's mess free and quick, and even takes stubborn glitter polish off a great deal faster then ordinary remover or pads.
The Magic Nail polish remover is Acetone and Paraben free and is also enriched with sweet almond oil to nourish the nails, i like how i don't have to wash my hands after and it doesn't dry out my nails like other removers.
It's available in Boots and Superdrug for £4.99 which may seem expensive for a nail polish remover but i've been using mine a good couple of months and it doesn't seem like its going to run out anytime soon. Overall i'm just really impressed and i wont be going back to regular nail varnish remover now, Magic all the way!

Has anyone else tried Bourjois Magic Nail polish remover? What did you think?

Skin Care Tag!

26 September 2013

Hey lovely's i've got a tag post for you today! I was tagged by the beautiful Harriet from Byooteeblog go and check out her blog this girl is amazing with makeup! This is the skincare tag which i thought was quiet a good tag for me to do to share a bit more about my skincare with you.

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words
Cleanse, exfoliate, toner, serum, mouisteriser!

What's your skin type?
Oily, my oily skin has been the bane of my life! It was awful to put up with during my teenage years not only did i have shiny skin to deal with but also the spots that come with it. Its not as oily now have to be careful what products i use so i don't dry out my skin which makes it oilier, i am also always spending my time looking for makeup that will last the day and not slide off in a couple of hours. The only plus point for oily skin is apparently you age better but to be honest i think all the stress my skin has given me is going to give me wrinkles anyway....

Top blemish Zapper?
I currently use the Garnier pure active roll on which is the best thing i've found at reducing the size of a spot, i really want to try Oragins super spot remover as i've heard really good things about it.

Face wipes yay or nay?
Nay! I am loyal to my Bioderma i really don't think that makeup wipes can compete with how well it removes makeup and leaves the skin clean and fresh.

Toner yay or nay?
Yay, i do like toner and it is great at giving your skin a final cleanse and closing the pores before moisturizing, i am just not the best at using it religiously, if i'm in a hurry to get ready toner is what i would drop from my routine.

High end skin care or high end makeup?
This is a hard question! I feel that if i had to i would choose to keep high end make up, i think that you can easily find great makeup and skin care in drugstores but i'm slightly more makeup obsessed!!

What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
Hummm i really don't think i've used anything that could be described as unusual, no experience with bee venom or snail slime here i'm afraid.

Tell us your top skincare tip
My top skincare tip would be to remove your makeup properly before bed and to apply a good moisturizer as its overnight that your skin really replenishes and repairs itself.

Galaxy Nails Tutorial!

21 September 2013

Hello there lovely's, i've got a new nail tutorial for you today! Luckily it went well this time as the last one i did went so terribly i didn't bother putting it up, i will attempt it again when i have a day when i have a lot of time and a LOT of patience! I've seen a few people with galaxy nails and i think it looks so good i decided i had to try it for myself, i am a lover of galaxy print as you will no if you saw my OOTN galaxy dress post. So if you fancy trying it for yourself keep reading...

What i used-
Base colour- Rimmel 800 Black Out,
White- BarryM Matt White,
Colours- Rimmel 809 Blue me Away, 180 Purple Pulse, 025 Strawberry Fizz.
Glitter- Rimmel 500 Disco Ball,
Top Coat- Essie Matt About You.
Models Own nail Art pen in white (can also use a cocktail stick or nail dotter)
Makeup sponge (sorry always forget to put something in the pic)

Step One-
Paint two coats of the black polish, to get an even dark base.

Step Two-
Take the sponge and dip it in the white nail polish and start to dab it onto the nails, you don't want to cover the entire nail just do a sort of strip, do it in different directions on different nails.

Step Three-
Take a dark colour like a navy blue and sponge that onto the nail either side of the white strip, it really doesn't have to be neat.

Step Four-
Take a slightly lighter colour like a purple, and sponge that on in patches around the other colours.

Step Five-
Sponge on some more white over the top and then sponge on a brighter colour like a pink or lilac.

Step Six-
The finishing touches, apply some glitter polish onto the black spaces on the nails. To make the stars use your nail art pen and draw little crosses on a few of the nails and make a few dots over the nails.
And to finish add a topcoat to seal it all together, i used a matt topcoat as it gives a really interesting finish.

This really is easy to do you don't have to be neat and precise to get a good result. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, have a go for yourself!

September Glossybox, London Edition!

19 September 2013

Hello lovely's, this months Glossybox is a London themed box to coincide with London Fashion Week! I am so impressed with this months box, how amazing is the union jack box design and the illustrations on the tissue paper, i do love it when they make a themed version.
This is what i received in my box,

Elizabeth Arden, Untold-
"A luxurious and modern floral fragrance, Untold celebrates the sophistication and intrigue of the multifaceted woman. From her vibrant optimism and refined feminity to her mysterious aura and magnetic sensuality. Untold's sparkling and fruity introduction, radiant floral heart and mysterious addictive warmth captures femininity in a bottle as beautiful and multifaceted as woman herself" (Wow hats of to whoever came up with that perfume description...)
This is the first Elizabeth Arden perfume i have sampled, its not a perfume that i would have found myself drawn too in a shop (far too sophisticated looking) i wasn't expecting to like this perfume at all but i actually do its quiet a strong musky fragrance not like the light floral scents i usually go for but i find once its had time to sit on the skin i really like the smell.

Eyelure Pre-glued Lashes-
"Eyelure's pre-glued lashes mean no mess no fuss, no waiting! Simply remove the lashes from the tray and apply to get a natural looking perfectly full lashes everytime!'
I have tried these lashes a few times before and really like them. They really are great for anyone like myself who struggles to apply lashes. I find the fact that you don't have to use glue so much easier and a hell of a lot less messy. I find the stickiness lasts a couple wears, and they come with a couple of extra sticky strips for extra use.

Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe, Classic Shine and Gloss Serum-
"The classic shine and gloss serum controls frizz with lightweight shine and alignment."
I haven't tried this serum yet but i was really happy it was in the box and am looking forward to trying it, i really enjoy using hair serums they make such a difference hopefully this shall impress.

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics, Onyx Eye Liner-
"Onyx's best selling eyeliner will last you throughout your entire day, no matter what how hectic it is! With a felt tip to draw a thin line for a casual look or a thicker line for a dramatic look, its super easy to apply and only takes seconds to dry."
I haven't actually worn this on my eyes yet but i've tested it on my hand and it is a black, black colour which i like as i'm sometimes disappointed by eyeliners that aren't dark enough blacks. Its quiet a big thick looking liner tip but the line it produces is the perfect thickness, i can imagine its going to be long lasting as it doesn't smudge easily on my hand.

Rimmel Stay Blushed Blusher, 001 Pop of pink-
"Rimmels first liquid cheek tint, comes in an impossibly light formula that wont clog pores but will last up to 24 hours. Perfect for any occasion, it blends seamlessly to create a long lasting, natural flush of colour, a must have for autumn/winter!"
I was really happy to find this in my box as i was going to buy it myself so that saves me a purchase!
Again i haven't tested this out properly yet, but i've tried it out on my hand and the colour is lovely and the formula feels really nice and easily bendable, i will probably do a proper review when i've used it a couple of times.

I was really happy with this months box, i'm impressed with everything i received, its been my favorite box yet!
Did anyone else get this months Glossybox what did you think?

OOTD, Green and Gold!

17 September 2013

Top- River Island,
Jeans- Topshop,
Boots- Missguided,
Jewelry- Primark.

Hey lovely's, I'm really missing the summer and the fact you can leave the house without a jacket and a brolly! However i am actually starting to enjoy dressing in the A/W trends, i'm finding myself lusting for snugly scarves, gloves and comfy knits, and i cant wait to go for a good shop and pick up a few new season bits. I bought this top last winter and i still love it, i always get compliments when i wear it, the dipped hem is really pretty and great if i want to wear it with leggings as it covers my bum, the gold detail at the front just makes it a bit more interesting. Im wearing my all faithful Topshop Leigh jeans as the skinny fit means their great for tucking into boots. The boots are from missguided and you cant see in the pictures very well but there sequined at the back, i heart these shoes so much!!!

Is anyone else really getting into the new season dressing? What are you loving right now?

Mini Sleek Haul and Review!

14 September 2013

Hello lovely's, i've got a few goodies from Sleek to share with you. These are the first bits of Sleek makeup i have purchased, i had been wanting to try Sleek for a while as id heard how good the pigmentation and quality of the products are for a relatively inexpensive brand. Unfortunately my local superdrug doesn't stock sleek products, one of the joys of living where i do.... so i had to order mine online i picked up the Candy collection blush palette, Face form palette and the Brow Kit.

Cupcake, Dolly Mix, Candy Floss.

Sleek Blush BY 3 Candy Collection, Sweet Cheeks-
This product was the main driving force behind the order, i had seen so many blog posts about this and was dying to pick it up for myself. The Sweet Cheeks palette is limited edition (still available online) and consists of a matt powder, a shimmer powder, and a cream blush. Everything about this palette is amazing, anyone who's a sucker for packaging like me will find it hard not to be drawn in by the cute candy inspired box. The blushers themselves are the MOST intensely pigmented blushers i've ever tried! Cupcake is the cream blush, its more of a blue toned pink, you don't need a lot of product and its blends out really well. Dolly Mix is the matt powder and is a very lilac pink, its the lightest of the blushers, and my favorite of the three. Candy floss is the shimmer powder, its a very bold fuchsia pink definitely not one for the fait hearted i only used the tinniest bit of this on my brush and i found it way to bight for me, i think its probably more suited to darker skintones.

Contour, Highlighter, Blusher.

Sleek Face Form Palette in Light-
I was really interested to try this, as i had been looking for a product to contour with, Sleek also do a palette with just the contour and highlight but i really liked the look of the blusher so i went for this one.
The contour is basically a matt bronzer its used to sculpt and define the face in areas like under the cheekbones, forehead and nose, i was really happy with the colour its not too dark and its easily blended for a natural look. The highlighter is a shimmery pearl colour, which you use to highlight areas that would naturally catch the light like the cheekbones and down the nose. I Think its so pretty, i find it quiet light so i have to apply more to get the look i want. The blusher is a gorgeous coral with gold shimmer, i am so i love with it i think it just gives such a healthy look to the skin it would suit all skintones, its my new favorite blusher!

Wax, Powder.

 Sleek Brow Kit in Light-
The Brow Kit consists of a wax, a powder, an angled brush, a blending brush and some tweezers. The wax is the darker shade which you use first to define and shape the brows, you then fill in the brows with the lighter powder. I would say this is the perfect colour for me, my eyebrows are very light naturally so i don't like to go to drastically dark but i do like them to stand out and define my face. I had never used a wax before but i like how it holds the hairs in place. Before buying this i had always used an eyebrow pencil, i am now completely converted to this little kit.

Has anyone tried any of these Sleek products? What did you think?

OOTD and FOTD, Casual Blues!

10 September 2013

Hey lovely's, i've been wanting to add more fashion posts to my blog, i do the odd outfit post now and again, but i would like to try and do them a bit more often and also do a face of the day with it. I don't claim to be a "fashion blogger" i don't think I'm particularly out there with my style and am defiantly not a "trendsetter" most of my outfits are pretty casual and i sometimes think do people really want to see outfit post from me when its so boring in contrast with some other blogs. But i've decided sod it!  I enjoy doing them and sharing my style with you, and hopefully some of you like seeing them, and so on that note heres todays outfit and makeup....

Vichy Dermablend,
Topshop Bronzer,
Collection Illuminating Touch,
Benefit Cream Shadow Bikini-tini,
Benefit World Famous Neutrals Kit,

Bourjois Blush Exclusive,
Loreal Color Riche in Crazy Fuchsia.

Jeans- Topshop Leigh Jeans,

Is it just me or has it just turned into miserable autumn weather overnight? Seems like summer has well and truly left us which means i shall be bringing out the jeans more often. I really need to pick up a couple of new pair of these jeans as i am obsessed with them, today i wore them with this pastel blue blouse from H&M. I am really glad the slipper shoe trend is staying for autumn/winter as i love them  and am hoping to pick up a couple of new pairs. I'm also still really into the statement necklaces, i think this amazing blue and pink one just adds the finishing touch to an otherwise very plain outfit.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, i would love to know what you think and if your interested in seeing the makeup i'm wearing as well.

Bourjois Rose Exclusif & Blush Exclusif Review!

07 September 2013

Hey lovely's, i popped into superdrug last week and as per usual i failed to leave without making a purchase... Whilst browsing the makeup i spotted these new little beauties from Bourjois! I must admit i haven't been their biggest fan in the past, however lately they seem to be bringing out some great new products that everyones been going mad over. The Bourjois Exclusif blush and lipgloss react to your skins PH to create your own individual shade, i think thats a really interesting idea so i decided to test them out.

Bourjois Blush Exclusif-
"A bespoke blusher that self adjusts into a unique personalized pink when applied to the cheeks"
The blush is a cream blusher that turns to powder on the skin, i like that it transforms to a powder as i personally prefer a powder finish i find the colour usually lasts longer. The colour in the pan is a light baby/rose pink. I applied it to my cheeks using my fingers, it has a very light texture and is described as being "incredibly bendable" and yes it does blend well but i find i had to apply quiet a lot of product to build up the colour i wanted as it almost disappears. I really like the colour i don't think it changed that much once applied, it was still a baby pink colour,  it is very light but i don't like my blusher to be too bright. Like the other Bourjois blushers it also has a light floral fragrance.
I do really like this blusher i do love the colour, I'm just not sure that it actually changed colour on my skin if it did it was a very subtle change.

Bourjois Rose Exclusif-
"A transparent lipgloss that self-adjusts into a unique personalized pink when applied to the lips"
This is not the first Ph reacting lip product i've tried, i have also tried the Topshop lipstick in Crystal (mentioned here) The gloss is clear before being applied, the hand swatch below shoes what it looked like when first applied to the skin, and the face shot shows what the colour looks like on my lips once fully developed. I love the colour its the most gorgeous rose pink colour, i was worried when i first tested it on my hand that it would stay light but it developed into a much pinker shade. The gloss is described as having a "non sticky texture that brings volume and shine to the lips" i found it to be very sticky which i don't like, however it had really good staying power and did bring volume to my lips. Overall i am impressed with this lipgloss unlike the blusher  i can clearly see the colour change so it does work and i really like the colour it gives me.

Has anyone else tried these Bourjois products? I would be interested to know if anyone gets a noticeably different colour with the blusher, please comment if you've tried it.

August Favourites!

06 September 2013

Hello lovely's, i cant believe its september already! Where has this year gone? Its crazy to think its christmas in four months! I am very sad to be saying goodbye to summer but i must admit i do enjoy the cooler autumn/winter months and all that they bring.
Anyway.... here are my favourites from the last month.

ST. Moriz Bronzing Mouse-
I recently reviewed this fake tan and compared it to St tropez, in a post last month (read here) I am still loving it as much now as i was then, its the only fake tan i've been using, for me it just gives the perfect colour I'm looking for its super easy to apply and its also really cheap not that i see myself having to repurchase for a while as there still seems to be loads left in the bottle!

BarryM Jelly in Papaya-
I am so impressed with the BarryM Jelly polishes they have a brilliant finish, great staying power and an amazing colour range. I picked Papaya as a monthly favorite as i wore it last month and completely fell in love with it, its the perfect summer shade to go with a tan i could happily have worn it on my nails for the entire month!

Esstee Lauder Sparkling Clean Foaming Gel Cleanser-
I haven't mentioned this on the blog before, i was using this daily a few months back and was really enjoying using it. I only stopped as i got some new skincare to try, but recently i have rediscovered my love for it. Its a foaming gel cleanser for oily skin and it always leaves my skin fresh and doesn't dry it out at all, it is pricey for a cleanser but its lasted me for ages so far and there's still quiet a bit left.

Viva la Juicy Noir, Juicy Couture-
I received this perfume as a sample in my last Glossybox, i hadn't been overly enthused by perfume samples before but this little beaut has changed my mind! I fell in love with it right away it smells AMAZING i am definitely wanting to add a full sized bottle of this to my perfume collection.

Batiste Dry Shampoo for Blonde Hair-
Now i no this might seem like a bit of a boring thing to put on my monthly favorites as I'm pretty sure everyones used dry shampoo and its all pretty much the same, the reason i am giving a shout out to this one is because it has been my saviour over the last month. I am in serious need of some root attention, i have been trying to put off dying them to help keep my hair in better condition by dying it less. This is by no means a magical root disguising product but it does help hide them a bit.

Vichy Dermablend-
Yes i no i have only just posted a review on this foundation (literally my last post) but as you may tell from my glowing review if you've read it, i bloody love the stuff! So its only fair it gets a mention. Not much more to say on it really if you want to know more you can read the review..... (sneaky promotion)

Topshop Bronzer in Sandcastle-
So glad i purchased this, its been my bronzer of choice every day since i bought it! I have been completely converted to matt bronzers now i love the natural and healthy look that it gives, its not too dark perfect colour for lighter skins.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite products from the last month. What have you been loving?

Vichy Dermablend Review!

03 September 2013

Hey lovely's, i had been on the hunt for a new foundation for a while, i never really just go out and buy a new one without doing a bit of research and checking out some reviews first. I had seen a few bloggers say good things about Vichy Dermablend so i picked it up for myself last month and its been my new favorite foundation ever since. I ask quiet a lot from a foundation, i have oily skin so i need one that is as long lasting as possible, i also have quite large pores and am prone to brakeouts so i tend to go for high coverage foundations. I had been using Estee Lauder Double Wear religiously for the last year or so, and it was the first foundation i found that actually lasted a fair few hours without me having to touch up my makeup. The only problem i had with it and the reason i wanted to try something new is that i find it feels heavy on the skin and even with a primer it sinks into my pores not covers them as i want. Vichy Dermablend is a corrective foundation designed to give total coverage and cover up redness, dark circles, acne scars, enlarged pores, irregular skintone and pigmentation, whilst still claiming to not mask the skin.

There's not a massive colour selection i think there is only five shades in total, i went for the shade 25 Nude which is the second lightest shade, it does look a bit light in the pictures above but on my face its a very good match.
What i love about this foundation is how it feels on my skin, i find it to feel so lightweight and natural. The coverage is brilliant it cover spots and and glides over pores without sinking into to them and makes my skin look heathy and fresh.
Performance wise it isn't as long lasting as my Estee Lauder Double Wear, however it does still do a good job at keeping the shine at bay but i have to touch up with a bit of powder throughout the day.
I am just in love with how it looks and feels and am so glad i decided to try it!
Has anyone else tried this foundation? What did you think?

OOTN, Monochrome and Leather!

02 September 2013

Hey lovely's,  just thought i would do a quick outfit of the night post and show you what i wore out saturday night.

Top- H&M
Skirt- H&M
Shoes- Primark
Necklace- Republic
Bracelet- Primark

It took me forever to decide what to wear i was having one of those days when even though your wardrobe is jam packed with clothes you still feel you have nothing to wear! It may seem strange but all i knew was that i felt like wearing a bold red lip so i just worked the outfit around that... I decided on this leather look skirt, which was a bargain buy from H&M, i think i've only worn it once before but i expect i will get a lot more wear out of it now through autumn/winter. The top is another H&M buy, i went with the whole monochrome look, its a bit different for me i usually like a lot of colour in an outfit but i like it, it's a bit more edgy than my usual girly style, good to mix it up now and again!
I hope you like my outfit, does anyone else ever base an outfit around a makeup look? Or is it just me...
