Topshop Makeup Haul and Review!

03 August 2013

Hello lovelys, this is a small haul to show you a few bits of Topshop make up that i have picked up over the last few months with a small review of the products.

Lipsticks-

Matt finish lipstick in Brighton Rock £8.00
I love this lipstick i am so glad i bought it, definite new favorite! Its a gorgeous coral and it would compliment all skin tones. It feels nice on the lips not too dry for a matt lipstick, and although its bright its definitely suitable to wear day and night.
Matt finish Lipstick in Tease £8.00
This lipstick is a cool toned pink, its a lovely summer shade and i really like it. It is also a matt lipstick but is not drying on the lips.
Colour Reactive Lip Tint in Crystal £9.00
This lip tint is designed to react to each individual to create your own perfect pink shade, i thought that was such an interesting idea i had to buy it! I like how this feels on the lips its very light and glossy and i love the subtle pink colour it gives me.

Topshop Full on Lashes Mascara-
I am in love with this mascara I rarely find a mascara that gives me volume and length without being clumpy, but this one does, it really is good. I am so disappointed that they do not seem to stock this anymore. Like i said above i have collected these bits over the last few months so its not brand new, I'm hoping that they have maybe just changed the name or have a new one out thats just as good, fingers crossed!

Topshop Nails polish-

Winterfrost £6.00
Winterfrost is a holographic silver polish, i had been wanting to try a holographic polish for a while i applied two coats of this, i did like how it looked but i thought it looked slightly streaky in some light but overall i do like it.
Chase £6.00
I had heard a lot of bloggers say how nice this colour was so i had to try it for myself, and i agree it really is a nice lilac colour with a subtle pearl shimmer, very pretty.

I am a big fan of Topshop make up, i've been really impressed with a lot of their make up its good quality and they are always on trend with colours.
Has anyone tried any of these products? What are your Topshop make up favorites?

Clothing Haul!

31 July 2013

Hello lovelys, i have not blogged in a few days i have been really busy, but i thought i would share with you the clothing and accessories i have purchased over the last couple of months.

Star crop top- River Island £10.00

Black strappy top- Primark £5.00

Lime jumper- H&M £7.99

Print crop top- Primark £5.00

Mint t-shirt- Republic £12.80 (20% off)

Flower print tube skirt- Topshop £28.00

Nude embellished heels- Primark £14.00

Necklaces- Primark
Left- £2.00
Middle- £4.00
Right-£3.00

I was so impressed with the stuff i got from Primark in particular, crop tops at £5.00 you just cant refuse, also i am still really impressed with their accessories, i love the spiky necklace i think the mixture of bright colours will help to brighten of a lot of outfits, i am also in love with the nude heels. I think they were such a bargain for £14.00, they look like they cost a lot more than that, the embellishment is so pretty and i think they will go with lots of different outfits. The grey tube skirt from H&M was another bargain its a really thick material and very similar to the plain tube skirts in Topshop but at £7.99 it is much better value for money.
Hope you liked seeing what i have bought lately, Thanks for reading.

Make up First and Fails Tag!!

28 July 2013

This is my very first tag yay!! The lovely Allie May Redmond from thefridaygirl.co.uk tagged me in and i am very happy she did, i get to share with you some of my first experiences and failures with make up.

Foundation and Powder-
I would say i was probably a bit of a late starter when it comes to make up, i didn't start wearing it till i was in my early teens, of course i played around with my mums and i had my own kids makeup set when i was young but i mean actually buying and wearing my own. From what i can remember i didn't start wearing full foundation right away. I had pretty bad skin as a teenager, growing up it was a nightmare i used to get a fair few spots and it was very oily i was very self conscious about my skin, i started off just putting concealer on my spots and i used to layer on the face powder to help with the oiliness. Unfortunately at that age we aren't the best at colour matching our makeup are we, so using the pale powder that i did probably wasn't the best look....

Eyebrows-
I remember the stage when girls at school started to become 'eyebrow aware' que the ridiculous eyebrow shapes... triangle brows, eyebrows that start or end half way across your eye, super thin barely there lines, girls that made the mistake of shaving them etc, i was pretty lazy with mine i still am to be honest they were either slightly too unkept and overgrown or far too thin due to trying desperately to get them both to match until i get to the point where there was not much left to match!

Eyeliner and Mascara-
One thing i did always wear from my early teens, and probably too much of was eyeliner and mascara black of course! Even tho my mum used to tell me i should wear brown/black being the fair and pale creature that i was (would say am but i discovered fake tan). But of course i knew better....

Eyeshadow-
This has got to be the number one fail i expect most girls make when dicovering makeup, blue, green, purple the brighter then better in your teens... i remember one of my favorite eyeshadow looks was with one of my mums eyeshadows that i err borrowed (sorry mum)... i used to put a light pink all over the lid and a really bright pink in the crease, i loved it!!

So that was my make up firsts and fails i hope you enjoyed reading it.

I am going to tag-

Nails Inc Bling It On Romance, Review and Tutorial

25 July 2013

This Nails Inc Bling it on kit, was one of the beauty items i featured in my last months beauty wish list, and when i got payed i treated myself to the little beauty. Im going to show you how i chose to use it followed by a short review.

What you get-
  • 2x 4ml nail polishes, colours porchester square and electric avenue,
  • 4x bow embellishments,
  • (aprox) 50x crystals - swarovski elements
  • nail glue 3g
  • 2x cuticle stick

Step one-
I used the colour Porchester square as my main base colour, i don't even no how to describe the colour browny/taupe?? i don't no, anyway i did two coats of that on all nails leaving my index fingers bare.

Step two-
I applied three coats of the silver glitter Electric avenue to my index nail.

Step three-
I applied a little bit of glitter around the base of the ring finger nail.

Step four-
There are three different sizes of crystals, i chose to apply them just to my thumb nails going up the nails from the largest to the smallest. To apply the crystals i applied a small blob of glue directly to the nail, where i was putting the crystal, to easily pick up the crystal dip one end of a cuticle stick in clear nail polish then pick up the crystal from the top using the stick and apply to the nail, hold it down firmly for a about 10 seconds.

Step five-
To complete the look i added one of the pretty bow embellishments to the nail on my middle fingers. To add the bow i put a small amount of glue on the back of the bow and then using tweezers i placed it down on the nail and held it there for about 60 seconds until it felt secure.

The finished look.......

I really love how my nails turned out i think there so pretty and they were really easy to do. I was so impressed with this fab little kit, i love the nail polish colours and the  swarovski crystals and bows are not only really pretty but are good quality. The Bling it on Romance kit is £25 which is quiet a lot but you can reuse the crystals and bows as long as you don't lose them so you can redo the look to get your moneys worth. I was impressed with how long the bows stayed on my nails for i thought i would catch them and rip them off pretty quick but five days later they were still going strong even after catching them a few times so the glue must be pretty good. I look forward to using this kit again and seeing what different looks i can create!
You can buy the Nails Inc bling it on Romance kit here
What do you think of my final look? I love to read your comments, and i will reply to any questions asked.

July Glossybox!

22 July 2013

I have been subscribed to Glossybox since april so this is my fourth box. I am still in love with the idea of getting a little box of goodies in the post every month i am always so excited to see what each box brings. Each box costs £10.00 (plus p&p) and I'm still happy to pay that each month for the products i have been receiving. This months box Seaside Splash is a box of summer must haves! I am really impressed with this months box, all the products are aimed towards making you look beach perfect and how amazing is the packaging!

This is what i received in my box........

Alterna Haircare, Bamboo style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist

"Your perfect seaside splash summer companion! forget perfectly primped hair, and instead opt for effortlessly tousled just back from the beach waves with this weightless mist. Adds texture, volume and healthy style to all hair types"

I was excited when i saw this in the box, i have a thing for beachy looking hair and i have tried a fair few these sort of products claiming to give me sexy beach goddess locks! However i seem to just end up with a crunchy, not so goddess like mess... not the look i am going for! The first time i used this i sprayed it into dry hair and then put it in a plait and didn't think much more about it until i took my hair out the plait later on that day and my hair had perfect beachy waves and volume! I was so impressed my hair wasn't crunchy or hard either. I also tried it sprayed onto to wet hair but i didn't find the effect as good as on dry hair. Overall super impressed with this, however at £23.00 for a full sized bottle i am wishing i didn't like it quiet so much!

Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented

"We love this little tough but gentle multi-tasker. Coola Organics Suncare Collection is hypoallergenic, free of parabens and packed with antioxidants. It provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fight free radicals, while soothing, toning and minimizing pores. Organic Acai oil delivers powerful anti-aging benefits, while organic evening primrose and linseed oils reduce inflammation and balance moisture.

I was interested to test this out as its specially targeted for the face and has lots of added benefits for the skin, however i cant say i was particularly impressed with this. I thought it made my face really white which i found strange considering its only a SPF20 and didn't rub into the skin very well at £29.99 for a full size bottle i think its safe to say i will not be purchasing it.

Essie Sleek Sticks

"Discover a whole new way to Essie. Now you can re-create chic looks fresh off the runway without so much as picking up a brush. These glam Essie sleek sticks mimic the look and feel of handcrafted nail art that lasts up to 10 days. All you need to do is match the stickers to the size of each nail, peel them off and apply, before buffing away any excess with the file... easy peasy!"

I was really happy to get these in my box, i am a big fan of Essie nail polish and i am super excited to try these out. I haven't had the best experience previously with nail wraps, i can never seem to get them on flat and straight so hopefully i will have better luck with these.

Sleek Makeup Pout Paint

"Pout Paints are intensive, long lasting lip pigments that are made to be mixed. Use a tiny bead of Pout Paint and smooth onto your lips for mind blowing vibrant colour that gives you full coverage that lasts for hours and dries to a satin finish"

Left (161 Minx) Right (154 Mauve Over)

I was very happy with the two colours i received my favorite is the peachy nude shade Minx. I tested Minx out on my lips and only needed a tiny amount to get a good colour. I struggled to get the swatches off my arm, i really had to scrub so i can imagine they are long lasting on the lips. I am looking forward to experimenting with the bright purple pout paint.

Anatomicals Spray misty for me Facial spritz

"Our current obsession in the Glossy office: ultra hydrating facial mists- the number one summer essential. This facial spritz with calming lavender and refreshing peppermint extract helps re-hydrate and calm skin. Wonderful every day, during flights, at the beach, in the city or in the office. We love that this is suitable for all skin types"

I like the idea of facial mists to cool you down and refresh the skin, thats exactly what you need in the summer. I sprayed this for the first time over my makeup and wasn't very impressed i found it didn't feel right on the skin and just make my face look wet and shiny, i also not too keen on the smell i feel its a bit too perfumed for a facial mist. I do like how cooling this is on the skin and think i will just use in on my body to cool me down or possibly on my face as long as I'm not wearing makeup.

So that what i received in this months box overall i am very happy with it the Bamboo Style Boho Waves mist is definitely a winner for me.
What did you think of this months glossybox? I love reading your comments and will reply to any questions asked.

OOTN, Galaxy Dress!

19 July 2013

I went out last night to celebrate a friends birthday, pretty strange being out on a thursday night I'm not usually one for going out on a school night but i had a really good night even if i have spent all day confused feeling like its sunday, anyway on to the outfit....

Dress- Missguided,
Shoes- New Look,
Bag- Primark,
Necklace- Miso at Republic.

I decided to wear this galaxy print midi dress, i am really loving longer hemlines lately i never used to be into longer dresses and skirts but at the minute i find thats what i am mainly drawn to. I really love the print on this dress, i expect its not to everyone's taste but i think its different i also love the colours. I think the dress was about £14 which i think is so cheap for such a nice stand out piece, its really comfortable to wear and fits well, i also like the t-shirt style sleeves i think it could easily be dressed down for daywear. I picked black shoes and a black studded clutch and spiky necklace to accessorize the look.
What do you think of my outfit? I love reading peoples comments, and i will reply to any questions asked.
