Dior Mystic Mettalics Palette in Bonne Etoile

30 November 2013

Hey lovelies, I hope your all enjoying your weekend so far, today i've got a little gem of a palette that i picked up on my holiday in October to show you.
The Dior Mystic Metallics Palette is from the Dior Autumn collection, there are two palettes in the collection 864 Constellation pink/purples and 384 Bonne Etoile brown/green shades and each palette consists of five eyeshadows. I was surprised to find i was drawn to the Bonne Etoile palette as I'm usually obsessed with pinks and purples, however the beautiful rich green shades just stood out to me and i thought why not try something different, i think they are the perfect colours for a really stand out Autumn eye look.

I was instantly impressed with how pigmented the colours are, the eyeshadows are all metallic and four of the five are also glittery. They really are great quality, they glide on easily, are very smooth and not at all powdery. The palette is just beautiful in itself to look at, cased inside a velvet pouch the shadows are embossed with pretty stars in the four outer shadows with the CD initials in the center.
The five colours, a dark olive green with gold glitter, a dark teal/green with glitter, an earthy brown with glitter, a shimmery silver with glitter and a lighter pastel green, all compliment each other well.
There are so many different eye looks you could create with the five colours, from more subtle daytime looks to more dramatic evening green smokey eyes.
I love how the colours make my green eyes really pop and i think its just such a gorgeous palette for a bit of a different look, i will definitely be rocking a dramatic green eye look over the party season.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick, Dark Night Waterl-oops!

28 November 2013

Hello there lovelies, Rimmel have recently bought out a new range of Moisture Renew lipsticks.
I believe there are ten new shades in the collection, i picked up the shade 380 Dark Night Waterl-oops (what an odd name?!) a deep plum colour and the darkest shade in the collection. Usually colours like that would have scared the bejesus out of me, however lately i've come around to darker more vampy shades, and i had been looking for my perfect plum lipstick from a high-street brand first before splashing out more cash and trying Mac Rebel.

(How it came out with flash, looks darker than this in person)

So on the the actual lipstick, let me just start by saying i really love it! The colour is not the darkest plum i've come across its a lot more of a vibrant purple shade but i love that and its exactly what i was looking for, i feel its a lot more wearable for me than some of the darkest almost black plum lipsticks.
The finish is lovely its incredibly glossy yet still massively pigmented, it feels really moisturizing on the lips almost like a balm.
Unfortunately due to the finish of this lipstick its not the most durable, it will smudge easily and i found it stays on decently well, but if your eating and drinking although the colour does stain your lips as its so dark you will have to re-apply.
If your after a really long lasting lipstick i probably wouldn't recommend this lipstick but if you don't mind re-applying then give it a go, for only £6.49 each and such gorgeous glossy shades i don't think you can go wrong.
I definitely am hoping to pick up a few more shades, I'm thinking maybe the orange and a nude pink shade. Has anyone else tried the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks? What did you think?

South West Bloggers Meet Exeter!

26 November 2013

Hey lovelies, on Saturday the 16th of November i attended the South West Bloggers Meet, i've already done an outfit post (here) showing you what i wore to the event and i thought i would share with you a few pictures and tell you a bit of what i got up to.
The meet up organized by the lovely Liza Prideaux and Kerry Dyer, and was held in Exeter in John Gandys bar from half one till half five, big thanks to Nicole who drove Liza and i to the event.
When we got there we had to lug about fifty goodie bags to the venue through Exeter highstreet!
The meet up was upstairs in John Gandys and we had our very own bar, after all that exercise i couldn't wait to have a delicious cocktail.

Lush Stand
Raffle prizes, (Nicole not included)

There was a great chilled and relaxed vibe i think the cocktails definitely helped to calm my nerves.
The lovely girls from Lush, Franjeska and Olivia had a stand showing some of the Lush Christmas products, i had a lovely arm massage using the Snow fairy massage bar which was lovely, and i treated myself to a little bottle of Snow fairy shower gel.
Pearlys were also at the event giving demonstrations of some teeth whitening products, i had a go and it was quiet amusing scrubbing away at my teeth with a powder covered finger mitt and trying not to get it all around my face, after my mouth felt so fresh and clean and defiantly a little brighter.
There was also the chance to purchase raffle tickets, with a table full of wonderful prizes to be won, and all proceeds going to the Talia Joy Costellos charity.
I was lucky enough to win two amazing prizes a Nanshy brush set and a beautiful dress from Rule 1 Store i was a very happy girl!

The Goodie Bag!
We really were all spoilt and there was an amazing goodie bag for everyone filled to the brim with great products, and how cute are the pink bags!
I had such a great time i met some really lovely people, and i want to say a massive thanks to Liza and Kerry for organizing such an amazing event!

BBB Beauty Box II Christmas Edit!

21 November 2013

Hey lovelies, back in July the British Beauty Blogger brought out her very own beauty box filled with her favorite products, and i was one of the lucky five hundred to purchase one of the boxes (review here) Due to the success of the first box she decided to bring out a second edition, the BBB Christmas edit box! The Christmas box went on sale on the 30th of October with seven hundred and fifty available this time, they were more expensive at £22.00 a box plus £5.95 p+p but with eighteen products (plus cute Union Jack stocking) that come to the value of £150 i think thats a pretty decent price!
When i saw the amazing products in the second box i knew i had to get one and fast as it was sure to sell out quickly!
This is what was in the box-

L'Occitane Angelica Face Toner and Angelica Cleansing Gel-
I have never tried any skin care from L'Occitane before, the Angelica cleanser and toner contain Organic Angelica Water and Essential Oil and are very gentle on the skin so i look forward to tying these.

Mandera Spa Tropical Blooms Softening Bath Milk-
I love a nice bath product, i've already used this in the bath and not only does it smell good but my skin felt nice and soft too.

Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Mascara-
I haven't tried this mascara before so I'm looking forward to seeing what its like.

Roger&Gallet Bois d'Orange Huille Sublime-
I'm loving oils at the minute they do great thing for the body, face and hair, this little beauty can be used on the skin and ends of the hair and has an amazing warm citrus fragrance.

La Roche-Posay Redermic [R] -
Im currently using and loving a couple of La Roche-Posay products right now the Effaclar Duo and Effaclar Matt (review) and although this is not probably something i would have bought myself being an anti-aging product, i am looking forward to tying it out and as they say prevention is better than cure!

Vichy Idealia Soothing and Illuminating Cream-
Another little french skin-care wonder! This cream claims to soothe and illuminate the skin giving a youthful complexion, sounds good to me!

Washi Hot Cloth-
This is a lighter more gentle flannel basically, great for giving the skin a really good cleanse.

L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream-
Im in love with this already it feels so luxurious and the Cherry Blossom scent is delicious.

Bourjois Khol&Contour Eyeliner-
I haven't tested this yet, it has a black end for sculpting and the other end is silver for illuminating the eyes.

CND Vinylux Week Long Wear Nail Polish and Topcoat-
I was excited to get this and am really looking forward to testing it out,  i love me my nail products!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gleaming Temptation Lipgloss-
I've never tried anything from this make up brand before, the lipgloss i received was in the shade 031 Blameless which is a dark nude/dusky pink colour not really a colour i would have picked for myself but i will give it a go and see what i think.

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask-
These masks where two of the products i was most excited about in the box, everyone raves about Ren skin-care particularly the Glycolactic Renewal mask and i cant wait tot test these out.

Alterna Bamboo Range 48h Sustainable Volume Spray-
Ive tried a sea salt spray form this range before and i loved it so I'm hoping this will impress me too.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Zodiac-
As a massive fan of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette i was excited there was an Urban Decay eyeshadow in this box, i had no idea what colour Zodiac would be but i am in love!! It is just the most beautiful thing a mixture of green, black and purple sparkle, its so amazing i think it deserves its own post in dedication to it so look out for that.

Rituals Car Fragrance-
Forgot to put this in the picture, this is the only product i wasn't excited about i don't have a car so this is a bit useless to me so ive given it away.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron-
This has had a lot of hype around it lately, i believe its a serum hats meant to help your moisturizer, moisturize better.. if that makes any sense, sounds like a great product for keeping winter skin hydrated.

Thats everything girls, i was really impressed with the contents of this box there is a great mixture of things and something that everyone will love, i think the British Beauty Blogger has done an amazing job, i was really happy with the last box but i think this one was even better!
If there is any products here anyone would like me to do a full review on please let me no in the comments.

OOTD, South West Bloggers Meet!

19 November 2013

Top- River Island
Trousers- River Island
Jacket- Topshop
Bag- Topshop
Necklace- Primark
Shoes- Primark

Hello lovelies, i attended the South West Bloggers Meet last weekend!
The meet up was in Exeter on Saturday and this is just a quick post to show you what i wore.
It was an afternoon-early evening event so i didn't want to go too ott so i went for something i would say is smart casual. I bought these printed cigarette trousers from River Island a couple of weeks ago and thought they would be perfect. I am definitely being a lot braver and more adventurous fashion wise lately, i love these trousers they are a lot bolder than what i would usually wear but i think the print is really different and they can easily be dressed up or down with a few different pieces.
I paired them with a simple cream satin cami also from River Island and my black leather (look) jacket from Topshop.
As it was going to be a long day i decided to spare my feet the pain and go for some comfy flats, i think slipper shoes go great with this style of trouser. The finishing touch was my current favorite bargain necklace from primark to add a bit of glam!

I hope you liked my outfit for the South West Bloggers Meet. I will go into more detail about the actual event and what we all got up too in a separate post, so look out for that.

Maybelline Colour Show Brocades!

14 November 2013

Hello lovelies, i would have to say my main makeup weakness is definitely nail polish, i have a ridiculous amount of the stuff, and yet does that stop me buying more to add to my collection? No it does not! I believe the day i ended up purchasing these little beauties i was trying to do my most determined walk past all the makeup in my local Superdrug and head straight to the boring section to pick up deodorant, when i found my eyes wandering. I spotted these gems, instantly fell in love and had to have all four.
The Maybelline Colour Show Brocades collection is a limited edition range of glittery polishes that come in four shades (in the UK, america have more! ) I am a massive sucker for anything glittery and sparkly, i just think these are perfect for the winter party season.

220 Knitted Gold-
Knitted Gold is a really pretty pink and gold glittery polish. It has a very fine gold shimmer with larger pink hexagon shaped glitter.

219 Foil Flash-
Foil Flash is a silver polish with fine silver shimmer and larger hexagon shaped silver glitter.

221- Woven Skyline-
Woven Skyline is a black polish with a mixture of black and gold shimmer, and larger gold hexagon shaped glitter.

224 Rosy Rosettes-
Rosy Rosettes is a red and gold polish, with fine red and gold shimmer and larger red hexagon glitter.

It takes a good few coats of these polishes to get a full coverage look, they are quite fine with one coat. These can look great alone or used over the top of other polishes for a bolder look.

Maybelline Colour Show Brocades are £2.99 each. Which one is your favorite?

Bourjois 24H Colour Edition Eyeshadows!

12 November 2013

Hey lovelies, i want to share with you today some makeup that I'm loving right now, the Bourjois 24H Colour Edition Cream shadows. The Colour Edition eyeshadows are a cream to powder metallic formula that claim to last 24 hours. I am personally a massive fan of cream shadows, i think there great to wear alone as a complete eye look or they make a great base under eyeshadow to make it really pop.
They are available in six shades, i picked up the colours 03 Petale de Glace a gorgeous light pearl shimmery pink and 05 Prune Nocturne a rich burgundy with red shimmer.

Swatches-
No Flash-  03, 05
With Flash- 03, 05
As you can see from the swatches above the colours are just so pretty especially when they catch the light, and even without a flash they still have a nice sheen to them. They are easily buildable to get a good colour and blend really well.
I really am in love with these eyeshadows i have used them alone and layered with eyeshadow and i was impressed with the lasting power. I am hoping to pick up a few more of these for my collection, well done again Bourjois you continue to impress!

Has anyone else tries the Bourjois 24H Colour Edition shadows? What did you think?

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat and Effaclar Duo!

09 November 2013

Hello lovelies, today i am reviewing a couple of skin care products, the La Roche-posay Effaclar Mat and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. I picked these up a good month ago they were in my latest beauty haul post, so i've had a decent amount of time test them out properly to share my thoughts on them with you.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat-
I had been looking for a new moisturizer to try for a while when i decided to try the Effaclar Mat. I had heard good things about it and am always on the lookout for new skin care to try. One of my major requirement with a moisturizer is that it needs to be aimed at reducing oiliness yet still moisturizing the skin well. Effaclar Mat is a sebo-controlling moisturizer that aims to control shine and reduce the appearance of pores. The first thing i noticed about this moisturizer is how light it feel on the skin, its a very thin consistency yet still does the job of making my skin feel properly nourished. Its got a light fresh scent that i really like, i also find it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a greasy residue. I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this my skin is less oily and i love how this leaves a great base for my makeup. I am really loving the Effaclar Mat, so much so that when it runs out instead of trying something new I'm going to repurchase!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo-
I hadn't intended on purchasing the Effaclar Duo, it was a bit of an impulse purchase as they were both on offer in boots i thought why not try this one too. I was a bit unsure on how to use it at first as this can be used as a moisturizer or as a targeted spot treatment. The Effaclar Duo is a Anti-Imperfection treatment thats also supposed to unclog the pores. As its a very thin serum like consistency i decided to use it as a serum, using it before my moisturizer. I haven't been using this as long as the Effaclar mat, when i came back from my holiday i had a big breakout on my forehead so i started applying this morning and night and it cleared up really quickly. Since then my skin had been pretty clear bar a few hormonal spots on my chin. I feel like my skin is looking a lot better at the minute due to using this, and I'm looking forward to seeing if it improves further.

I am really enjoying using both of these La Roche Posay products they really are making an improvement to my skin and I'm very impressed. Has anyone else tied these products? what did you think?

Autumn Primark Haul!

05 November 2013

Hey lovelies , I'm really feeling the Autumn vibe now and am being drawn to all the dark colours and textured fabrics and so I'm trying to update my wardrobe with a few new season pieces, this is just a small haul post today to show you a few clothing and accessorie bits i've bought from Primark lately.

Velvet Crop Top £5.00-
I am loving velvet right now, i don't no quiet what's happened as i used to dislike it before but i just cant get enough of it at the moment. It was the colour of this top that stood out to me its such a gorgeous wine colour and the crushed velvet texture i really like it. I find this does come up small i got a 10 and if i stretch my arms up it rides up quiet a bit but I'm planning on wearing it under a pinafore dress so a bit of bra flashing wont matter.

Black Studded Bag £6.00-
I picked this up as i was looking for a little bag to take out on nights out but didn't want to spend too much. This little bag is perfect its big enough to fit in all my night out essentials, and i really like the studded detail and the chains on the strap, what more could you want for £6.00!

Black slipper Shoes £4.00-
Also loving my slipper shoes right now, as you may have guessed by the three new pair i bought... I think there just so easy to throw on with all outfits, they look good with jeans or dresses and there so comfy to wear, i got some plain black ones that will go with everything.

Leopard Print Slipper Shoes £4.00-
I had to pick up these leopard print ones as well, i think they really stand out and leopard print never really goes out of fashion, these will be great to add a fun touch to a more simple outfit.

Grape Tassel Slipper Shoes £5.00-
The last pair i bought was these lovely grape colored tasseled shoes, i just love the colour there great for Autumn, the tassels make them a bit different from the others and i just had to have them. They also come in black and teal.

Necklace £5.00-
I spotted this necklace after i had payed for my stuff and was leaving the shop, when it caught my eye i thought.. ooooh thats nice but can i really be bothered to que again just for this necklace? And obviously i did! For £5.00 how could i say no, i think it looks much more expensive than that, i love the mixture of metals and the big stones that look different colours in different lighting, love it!

Thats everything ladies, i hope you enjoyed seeing what i bought, they've got some great bits in Primark at the moment, has anyone else bought any new bits from there lately to update there wardrobe?

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Styling Products Review!

01 November 2013

Hey lovelies, another hair-care review for you today, this time I'm reviewing a couple of styling products from the Luxurious Volume range. My hair is very fine and flat, it's also getting long now and i find it can sometimes look a bit limp and lifeless... not quite the look I'm after! I was excited to try John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow Dry Lotion* and Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray* as I'm open for trying anything that claims to give a bit of life to fine hair.
The Blow Dry Lotion is a root booster that claims to "Thicken the hair shaft, to boost volume and give fullness on even the finest hair" and the Blow-Out Spray claims to give the look and feel of more hair by "Creating natural volume by plumping fine hair from root to tip for the body and shape of a salon-quality blow dry.

How i used them-
1- I shampooed and conditioned my hair using my current favorites from the Full Repair range,
 review here,
2- I towel dried and then combed through my hair,
3- I sprayed the Blow Dry Lotion around the roots of my hair, parting my hair to make sure the roots were evenly covered,
4- I then took the Blow-Out spray and sprayed that on the roots and also down the length of my hair,
5- I combed through my hair again and then blow dried my hair, using a round brush once the hair was 80% dry to give a bit of curl to the ends.
The result....

My thoughts-
I was impressed with how big my hair looked and even how it felt, it really did feel thicker particularly at the roots. Il be the first to admit I'm not amazing when it comes to styling hair and I'm not particularly skilled at blow drying, but i was still really happy with the outcome. It does say on the instructions of the Blow-Out spray that you can add a few more sprays to hair when its almost dry for an even fuller blow dry which i didn't do as i felt i already had a lot of product in my hair, so who knows how big it would have been if i'd done that! I enjoyed using these products, and i will defiantly use them again when blow drying my hair.
The John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion is priced at £5.99 and the Blow-Out Spray is £6.99.
For styling tips check out the John Frieda You-Tube channel

Has anyone else tried any styling products from the John Frieda Luxurious Volume range? What did you think?
