Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

24 November 2014

I am a big fan of Urban Decays eyeshadow's, i have both the Naked 2 and 3 palette and love them both. I've never been massively fussed about the previous Vice palettes, however as soon as i saw pictures of this Vice 3 i knew i had to have it, i think it was the gorgeous berry shades that drew me in, it was released online on my payday and i bought it instantly, it was like it was meant to be! Yes the Urban Decay palettes aren't the cheapest on the market, the Vice 3 was £42 which did pain me slightly but if you think it will coat you £38 for a Charlotte Tilbury quad it doesn't seem quite so bad. For your money you are getting twenty delicious new and never seen before shades, inside some of the most amazing and well thought out packaging.
The palette comes in the box inside its very own bag which i thought was a great touch, its a great size to use as a makeup bag or as suggested on the box to keep your makeup brushes in. On to the palette itself, for the Vice 3 Urban Decay have streamlined the palette for a much sleeker size, however it still has a very handy massive mirror inside and a double ended brush which is great. I love the bright fun colours and the lime green jewel like Vice in the lid i think it just sets it aside from any other palette on the market.
On to the shadows which are set in rows of five, neutrals on the left, jewel tones in the center and smokey shades on the right. You get a nice mixture of matte, shimmer and metallic shadows in some of the most beautiful shades, some of my favorites are the metallic which i think are the best quality and pigmentation particularly Lucky a warm bronze and Sonic the most amazing cranberry shade, the metallic shadows are smooth and buttery and last all day, very impressed. One thing i will say about the palette is there is a variation in quality in the shadows as much as i was impressed with the metallic shades i have found some of the other shadows to be slightly powdery and not as strong in pigmentation which is a bit disappointing. I think there are so many possible looks with this palette, there are some quite bright daunting shades Dragon for example a bold green but i think combined with the mixture of more neutral shades there a lot more wearable and there is a little something for everyone.
Overall i am really impressed with the Vice 3 palette, i think Urban Decay have done a great job and i wont be putting it down anytime soon, this will defiantly be my chosen palette for the party season!

What do you think of the Vice 3 palette?

September Favourites

07 October 2014

I cannot believe were are into October already, the weather has finally changed and the shelves are already lined with Christmas stock, this year has literally steamed by and although i was reluctant to say goodbye to Summer i must admit I'm liking the thought of all that Autumn and Winter brings!
I haven't got a lot of new favorites but there are a few bits that i have been loving and felt deserved a mention.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette-
I think I'm correct in saying this was released before Christmas last year so that would mean i've had it for almost a year now. To be honest its not been my most used palette, however as soon as i get a hint of Autumn i find my makeup tastes change i start to go for vampy lip colours and to go with them i like a nice warm neutral eye which this palette is perfect for. I used it so much last month, i think its a very versatile palette and just perfect for this time of the year.

Vichy Dermablend Foundation and Setting Powder-
The foundation was a massive favourite of mine a while back but since discovering Nars Sheer glow it hasn't seen as much love. However due to the dramatic turn for the worse my skin has taken lately i've found myself relying on it again as its the highest coverage foundation i own. The setting powder has massively grown on me since i first reviewed it, and paired with the foundation has been the perfect full coverage combination. The powder does definitely work so much better paired with the Vichy foundation and not only gives a great finish to the skin but helps it last so much longer.

Bourjois Volume 1 Second Mascara-
I no i've only just recently reviewed this mascara but i had to give it a mention in my favourites as its the only mascara i've been using. It really is a great mascara it does everything i want it lengthens and volumises, without clumping up the lashes. Im so impressed with it and would recommend it to everyone, so go try it!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush-
You may remember i gave this blush a glowing review back in August, and my love for this little beauty has in no way diminished since then! This is still my go to blusher and the absolute favourite i have ever tried or owned, it gives the prefect flush of pink to my cheeks and a luminous sheen that is just so pretty. Also for a blusher i use virtually everyday it looks like i've barely used it so i can see this lasting for ages.

So that was my September favourites, what have you been loving lately?

It looks like so much all typed out, i think i've taken about the same as last time... maybe slightly more but as my makeup collection grows it does make it so much harder to choose. I also like to really experiment with my makeup when I'm on holiday and play with a bit more colour than usual so i've noticed i've picked more bolder shades for my lips this time and instead of bringing one of my neutral Naked Palettes i've brought my Bright Sleek Del Mar and Original palette which is a mixture so i have lots of variety.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what makeup i choose to bring on holiday with me, i was going to do a what's in my suitcase but it would just have been ridiculous to try and show all of my clothes, however I'm going to take outfit pictures so i will do a holiday outfits post when I'm back.

Spring Summer 2014 makeup Trends

28 March 2014

Orange lips are a huge trend for SS 2014, they were seen all over the runways and many celebs have been rocking them on the red carpet and events. Wether you go brave with a vivid bold orange or apricot,  or slightly safer with an orange/red, orange is definitely the colour your lips want to be seen in, and the great thing is it really does flatter all skin tones. This look is best paired with minimal makeup keep it simple and let the lips do the talking.

Dramatic liner is not a trend for the feint hearted, the look is all about bold angular shapes like a more modern day 60s liner look, with black lines along the lashline and above the crease. If like me you haven't yet perfected the art of a basic cat eye then these graphic arty liner looks may seem a little scary, maybe just try a slightly thicker line or more exaggerated wing than usual for a slightly bolder look or even drag the line up to the crease to outline the outer v.

The Spring/Summer runways were awash with blue lids, perhaps not the easiest trend to pull off in everyday life but definitely a striking one. Although blue eyeshadow does slightly alarm me and bring back memories of some of the brightly colored looks we once rocked in our school days i really do like it, if you want to be brave and give it a shot go for a bold block of colour or if you want to try a safer option apply it around the top and bottom lashline almost like a liner. Work this bold eye look with peachy/coral cheeks and either nude or peachy lips.

The barely there, natural look is just so pretty and fresh looking, for me it's just the epitome of Spring/Sumer makeup.
Now we all no that although we all wish that natural barely there look could be achieved with a couple of products in reality it still seems to require a gazilion different things!
This look is all about looking healthy, fresh and glowing, for the base a BB or CC cream would work well or a light foundation that will give you a your skin but better look. A light dusting of bronzer to give a healthy glow, and a cream highlighter applied to areas that catch the light will make the skin look luminous and radiant. Finish the look of with pink blush to give a natural flush to the cheeks, a couple of coats of mascara and a slick of a nude or pink lipstick or gloss.

I hope you enjoyed this post, what is your favorite SS 2014 makeup trend?

2013 Makeup Favorites

08 January 2014

Hey lovelies, i like to try and do a favorites post each month, its just a good way to share the products I'm currently loving  and why i like them. I've decided not to do a december favorites, instead I'm going to do a couple of posts dedicated to my favorite products from 2013, the first makeup and the second beauty and random favorites.
This post is my makeup favorites from the past year,  i have picked a single winning favorite for each category like my own little makeup awards. It was hard to choose some of them but i went for the things that i find myself reaching for more than the rest and ones that have really stood out to me for whatever reason. Some are old favorites and some i may have only discovered in the last couple of months, all i expect you've heard me ramble on and on about all of them before but thats simply because i love them!

Primer- Estee Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer
I require a primer to be mattifying and this one really does the trick it also leaves my skin smooth and a great base for makeup.

Foundation- Vichy Dermablend
Foundation was a really hard one to choose, ive tried a few new foundations this year but Vichy dermablend is what i find my self reaching for when i want a flawless base that covers everything yet leaves your skin looking glowing.

Concealer- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Great concealer at a great price, not a lot more to say than that really.

Blusher- Sleek Rose Gold Blush
Clear winner for me, the most beautiful flattering pink with gold shimmer.

Bronzer- Topshop Matte Bronzer in Sandcastle
Another clear favorite, i've mentioned it a shed load of times, i love the colour and i haven't used any other bronzer since i bought it.

Highlighter- Sleek Face Form Palette Highlighter, Benefit High Brow
(I know ive picked two highlighters but i use them both for different things so that should be allowed right?)
The Sleek highlighter is very subtle and pretty but thats why i love it, great for everyday use. I also love Benefits High Brow to  highlight the brow bone, inner corners of my eye and my cupids bow.

Powder- Rimmel Stay Matte
This is an old favorite, i've tried all sorts of face powders at all price ranges but i always come back to this one.

Eyebrow Product- Sleek Brow Kit
I like that you have a wax and a powder, it's the powder i use mainly its just a good colour for me.

Eye Palette- Urban Decay Naked 2
Naked 2 palette is a clear winner for me, i've used it to death over the past year, its been with me on all my travels as its got everything you need for a variety of looks.

Single Eye Product- Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Bikini-Tini
Massive fan of Benefits Creaseless Cream Shadows i have a few colours but this is my favorite i use it all the time as a simple complete eye look and also as a base for other colours.

Mascara- Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme
I have worked my way through a lot of mascara's this year but this one stands out to me, it gives longer fuller lashes and doesn't clump.

Eyeliner- Collection Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner
Another great Collection product at a great price that does the trick. Good black black colour, i love the size of the nib, great for fool proof eyeliner application.

Lipstick- Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 380 Dark Night Waterl-Ooops
Found it hard to pick a favorite lipstick, there's so many that i love and this is hardly the most wearable of shades but its my favorite of the years new finds, i like that its something different and bolder for me.

Lipgloss- Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach
This has been my most used lip product since i bought it, its just s great colour and i love how it just feels like I'm wearing a lip balm.

Lip Balm- The Body Shop Born Lippy in Watermelon
Soothes my lips nicely and smells so yummy.

So there you have it my favorite makeup products from 2013!
Round of applause to the winning products, you have served me well my beauties and helped me to look slightly presentable over the past year and for that i thank you!

What are your favorite makeup products from the last year?

Hey Lovelies, this is a collaboration post set up by Kristie over at KristieBlogsBeauty, the idea is to do a post based on a Christmas Party/NYE look this could be makeup, hair, nails etc. I've never done a collaboration post before but i thought this sounded like a great idea.
I decided to do a makeup look for my post, something glam and stand out for the party season. The look is all about the eyes making them the focus and keeping the rest of the makeup simple.
I used a matte primer and my Double Wear foundation set with a matt powder for the base as when i'm doing my makeup for a night out or party i want it to be as long wearing as possible to last the night. I also used an eye primer to prevent the eye makeup fading or creasing.
The main eyeshadow i based this look around is Zodiac from Urban Decay, its the most gorgeous green shadow with green, black and a slight bit of purple glitter in, it just has party written all over it! I applied it over the entire lid, blending Blackout from the Naked 2 palette into the outer v, and used  MUA's pearl a really pretty gold along the bottom lashline and the inner corners and blended. As this is quite a bold eye look i used a black Khol liner in the waterline and black liquid liner long the upper lashline, a couple of coats of a volumising mascara, and not forgetting falsie's a must have for a dramatic party eye!
The rest of the makeup is simple, bronzer, blush and highlighter from my Sleek palette and a nude gloss to finish the look.

I hope you like my Christmas Party/NYE makeup look, Kristies post will be up tomorrow so be sure to go and check that out (Here) she will also have links in her post to the other bloggers taking part in the collab.

Naked 3 Palette// Review & Swatches

18 December 2013

Hey lovelies, i have an exciting post to share with you today, a review of my favorite new addition to my makeup collection the Naked 3 Palette!
Ever since i heard the Naked 3 Palette was being released i new i would have to get my hands on it, and so i pre-ordered mine from Lookfantastic.com and it was delivered on Saturday, which i was very excited about as i wasn't expecting it until the 21st.
I am a big lover of Urban Decay eyeshadows and i have used my Naked 2 palette to death i have even hit pan on quite a few of the colours.
Some people may think what's the point in getting another palette of neutral eye colours when you already have one how different can it be?
Whereas the Naked 2 is a palette of mostly cool taupe shades, Naked 3 has twelve all new, more warmed toned rose shades and they are just beautiful.
Out of the twelve shades there are a mixture of matt, satin and glitter shades ranging from light to dark colours.
The three matt shades Strange, Limit and Nooner and all smooth and well pigmented, Strange is great for the brow bone and Limit and Nooner are both great crease shades. I was really impressed with how pigmented a lot of the eyeshadows are particularly some of the satin finish shades Liar, Mugshot and Darkside. Blackheart is a very interesting black shadow with red glitter and I'm looking forward to trying a few new eye looks with this. I was slightly disappointed with Dust its a very pretty rose shimmer, however i find it slightly chalky compared to the rest and i need to apply a lot to make it noticeable.
Also included with the Palette are four different samples of Urban Decays eye primers including the Original, Eden, Sin and an Anti-aging primer.
I think Urban Decay have done a great job with this palette, i am completely in love with mine, i think there is a great selection of colours and finishes and i am loving playing around with new eye looks.

Has anyone else got there hands on the Naked 3 Palette? What do you think of it?

BBB Beauty Box II Christmas Edit!

21 November 2013

Hey lovelies, back in July the British Beauty Blogger brought out her very own beauty box filled with her favorite products, and i was one of the lucky five hundred to purchase one of the boxes (review here) Due to the success of the first box she decided to bring out a second edition, the BBB Christmas edit box! The Christmas box went on sale on the 30th of October with seven hundred and fifty available this time, they were more expensive at £22.00 a box plus £5.95 p+p but with eighteen products (plus cute Union Jack stocking) that come to the value of £150 i think thats a pretty decent price!
When i saw the amazing products in the second box i knew i had to get one and fast as it was sure to sell out quickly!
This is what was in the box-

L'Occitane Angelica Face Toner and Angelica Cleansing Gel-
I have never tried any skin care from L'Occitane before, the Angelica cleanser and toner contain Organic Angelica Water and Essential Oil and are very gentle on the skin so i look forward to tying these.

Mandera Spa Tropical Blooms Softening Bath Milk-
I love a nice bath product, i've already used this in the bath and not only does it smell good but my skin felt nice and soft too.

Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Mascara-
I haven't tried this mascara before so I'm looking forward to seeing what its like.

Roger&Gallet Bois d'Orange Huille Sublime-
I'm loving oils at the minute they do great thing for the body, face and hair, this little beauty can be used on the skin and ends of the hair and has an amazing warm citrus fragrance.

La Roche-Posay Redermic [R] -
Im currently using and loving a couple of La Roche-Posay products right now the Effaclar Duo and Effaclar Matt (review) and although this is not probably something i would have bought myself being an anti-aging product, i am looking forward to tying it out and as they say prevention is better than cure!

Vichy Idealia Soothing and Illuminating Cream-
Another little french skin-care wonder! This cream claims to soothe and illuminate the skin giving a youthful complexion, sounds good to me!

Washi Hot Cloth-
This is a lighter more gentle flannel basically, great for giving the skin a really good cleanse.

L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream-
Im in love with this already it feels so luxurious and the Cherry Blossom scent is delicious.

Bourjois Khol&Contour Eyeliner-
I haven't tested this yet, it has a black end for sculpting and the other end is silver for illuminating the eyes.

CND Vinylux Week Long Wear Nail Polish and Topcoat-
I was excited to get this and am really looking forward to testing it out,  i love me my nail products!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gleaming Temptation Lipgloss-
I've never tried anything from this make up brand before, the lipgloss i received was in the shade 031 Blameless which is a dark nude/dusky pink colour not really a colour i would have picked for myself but i will give it a go and see what i think.

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask-
These masks where two of the products i was most excited about in the box, everyone raves about Ren skin-care particularly the Glycolactic Renewal mask and i cant wait tot test these out.

Alterna Bamboo Range 48h Sustainable Volume Spray-
Ive tried a sea salt spray form this range before and i loved it so I'm hoping this will impress me too.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Zodiac-
As a massive fan of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette i was excited there was an Urban Decay eyeshadow in this box, i had no idea what colour Zodiac would be but i am in love!! It is just the most beautiful thing a mixture of green, black and purple sparkle, its so amazing i think it deserves its own post in dedication to it so look out for that.

Rituals Car Fragrance-
Forgot to put this in the picture, this is the only product i wasn't excited about i don't have a car so this is a bit useless to me so ive given it away.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron-
This has had a lot of hype around it lately, i believe its a serum hats meant to help your moisturizer, moisturize better.. if that makes any sense, sounds like a great product for keeping winter skin hydrated.

Thats everything girls, i was really impressed with the contents of this box there is a great mixture of things and something that everyone will love, i think the British Beauty Blogger has done an amazing job, i was really happy with the last box but i think this one was even better!
If there is any products here anyone would like me to do a full review on please let me no in the comments.
